The Golf Course
Sudbury golf course was designed by the legendary Harry Colt in 1920 and is as challenging as it is beautiful. The par of 70 will test the very best players but it can also be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities. It is a classic parkland design with rolling, tree-lined fairways and pulpit greens. Colt was a master of the short hole and Sudbury’s four Par 3’s are a testament to his skill as a designer.
With excellent practice facilities on the course that includes practice ground with two covered bays, two chipping & bunker greens built to USGA specifications, a practice putting green and two nets close to the 1st tee it is no surprise that we are first choice to host some of the county’s major championships and finals.
There is currently an improvement programme in place for the golf course which includes an investment of over £300k on a new irrigation system throughout that will raise the standard and quality of play on the course. Continuing improvements to the Clubhouse, Bars, Dining Room and Locker Rooms complement the high quality playing experience. But don’t take our word for it…
