Welcome to Sudbury Golf Club
The golf course was designed by the legendary Harry Colt in 1920 and is as challenging as it is beautiful. The par 70 will test the very best players but the course can be enjoyed by golfers of all standards. It is a classic Colt design with rolling, tree-lined fairways and pulpit greens. Colt was a master of the short hole and Sudbury’s four Par 3’s are a testament to his skill as a designer.
Excellent practice facilities that includes two covered bays, a short game area built to USGA specifications, a practice putting green and two nets close to the Clubhouse compliment the golf course and it is no surprise that we are always first choice to host some of the county’s major amateur championships and finals. With spectacular views from the Terrace (you really won’t believe how good it is!) and a warm welcome in the Clubhouse, Sudbury Golf Club is well worth a visit.
But don’t take our word for it…
Review 1 – “Very good course. Family were over from Phoenix US and fancied a game of golf, the course was in good condition, greens still pretty quick and tricky, the weather was good to us. We will return.”
Review 2 – “One of those courses I only get to play once a year, but still one of my favourites. Usually played in baking sunshine in June/July, this year we had rain. Despite this the greens were very quick, and the lack of run on the fairways made the course even more difficult than usual (it’s par 69 and SSS 71). Every year sees more improvements to the course. The food has always been excellent and we are always looked after. Fairly limited parking if you’re coming as a large group – you could end up parking in the overflow car park in the middle of the course.”
Review 3 – “Great golf club, in the middle of London. Beautiful panoramic views from the terrace and multiple tee-boxes. From the 7th and 17th tees you’ll get to see the London-skyline (London eye, Shard etc.). It really is a hidden gem this course. The course is very well maintained, greens are fast and true, fairways and tee boxes are all decent; keep up the good work. The whole course is situated on / around a hill, on top of which the clubhouse is situated. There are almost no straight lies and due to the fact that it is situated on a hill your landing area becomes more crucial (land left, end up right), so your shot making will be tested. Lots of height difference as well, which need to be taken into account when choosing the right club. Great course this; I would definitely recommend a visit.”
Review 4– “We had a thoroughly enjoyable day at Sudbury Golf Club. We were made very welcome by everybody from management, bar staff and the catering staff. We have already pencilled in a return visit for next year.”
Review 5 – “Booked our society day here for our flagship event. All the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The course was in great nick and made for an excellent day. Would thoroughly recommend Sudbury, the course is as good as it gets!”
